The beginning ...........
Always the splattered particles of leaves that the wind rips apart.
THE BED ............. Yep, it's a mattress on top the pool table.
It was kind of cozy .......... until time to go to sleep. IMPOSSIBLE with the wind gusts. I was really afraid something would crash thru the house and then, the floor. It was SO loud.
Uh ............ kind of got playing with my camera.
It was getting dark so I wanted to check outside once more for any damage. I waited till the gusts slackened - opened the front door - peeked around - walked to the end of the porch. Then I looked up at the trees and saw them start to "violently sway" again. I ran back to the door - opened it while hearing a CRACK - ran inside WHILE the above tree was falling .......... SLAMMED the door quick as the tree hit the ground! I was thinking, "Close the door quick" (as if that might keep out the TREE). I realized what had happened and ran to look out Lexie's bedroom and there before my eyes - about one or two feet from the window was the BEAST! I still can't believe I was on the porch when it happened!!!
There's Miss Lexie's window. Crazy!!!
The tree cracked off here.
I think it's interesting .......... this was a weak, diseased part of the (otherwise healthy) tree. Kind of like our lives. Life can bring us down, even if we think we are strong, if we don't pay attention to our weaknesses.
This monster greets you as you pull into our driveway. Should we leave it up for Halloween? Look at the Lake of water it left?
This uprooted tree is on the other side of the driveway.
This one, too, fell into the woods (thankfully). It didn't even break up the concrete driveway. Whew!
Caddy cornered from us. (How do you spell caddy?)
My friend, Martha and her family.
Another friend, Jodie! She told me THIS was looking waaaay better than before I came. Can't imagine!!??
Upstairs over her hot tub.
Driving back up the street.
The trampoline of my darling piano students. House though, was unscathed.
uh-oh ............ what's the hold up?
THIS is the hold up. Don told me about this one last night at midnight. Said he had to drive under it!
How ironic ........ my sweetie is doing this VERY thing in DC ........ while I photograph these guys hard at work.
See how far the cars were lined up for that downed tree.
Had to check on a friend in Lusby so I drove by my friend's (Val Nickerson) old house. WHOA!!!
Even the stoplights didn't work.
This one was off the highway
Now, off to see Belinda and Jamie.
On my way to Wendy's house.
THIS is the tree that Danny cut down ......
........ because this was Wendy's car that the tree missed by a foot!!
Ok folks ............ Wal Mart wasn't even open!!!
